Referring physician portals can make collaboration between different players more efficient. They reduce waiting times and optimize the use of cost-intensive resources. They standardize and accelerate process flows, reduce administrative effort and maximize the profitability of clinics and medical practices.
In most cases, referring physician portals are implemented by the hospital as a web-based extranet in a secure IT environment, connected to the HIS and made accessible only to authenticated users. They enable physicians in private practice to access patient data during the hospital stay and to follow treatment and workflow processes.
In the current issue, Radiologie Magazin looks at the topic of referral portals using the integration example of our app mRay. Not only are the functions, goals and advantages considered, but also a look into the future and the close connection with the further development of the telematics infrastructure.
